Delete Your Account
Last updated: August 26, 2026
You can delete your TyphoonGuard account, and every piece of personal data attached to it, at any time. There are two ways to do it: from inside the app, which takes effect immediately, or by email if you no longer have the app installed. You do not need an account on this website — there is nothing to sign in to here.
Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Apple and Google, and only you can cancel them:
- iPhone / iPad — Settings → your name → Subscriptions → TyphoonGuard → Cancel Subscription.
- Android — Play Store → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → TyphoonGuard → Cancel subscription.
Cancel there first, or you may continue to be billed after your TyphoonGuard account is gone. We never receive your payment details and cannot cancel a store subscription on your behalf.
1. In the app (fastest — takes effect immediately)
- Open TyphoonGuard and go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account….
- Type DELETE when prompted to confirm, then tap Delete my account.
That is the whole flow. The deletion runs the moment you confirm it — there is no waiting period and no email round-trip. The steps are the same on iPhone and on Android.
2. Without the app (email request)
If you have already uninstalled TyphoonGuard, or you cannot sign in, send us a deletion request and we will do it for you. Send it from the email address the account is registered to where you can — that is how we verify the request is really yours. If you cannot, tell us the account email address in the message and we will ask you to confirm it another way before we delete anything.
That link opens a pre-filled message in your mail app. If it does not open, just email [email protected] yourself with the subject TyphoonGuard account deletion request and the account email address in the body.
We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
3. What happens the moment the account is deleted
Deletion is permanent and irreversible. There is no undo, and the account cannot be restored by support. As soon as it runs, all of the following happen together:
- The account is marked deleted and can no longer be signed in to. Your app is signed out on every device on the next request it makes.
- Every pin you created stops being monitored, and alerts stop.
- Your per-pin alert settings are deleted outright.
- Every device registered to the account is deregistered from push notifications, so no further notifications are delivered to any of them.
- Your subscription record on our side is marked cancelled. This stops paid features on our side — it does not stop billing by Apple or Google. See the notice at the top of this page.
4. What is erased, and when
- Within 90 days, all personal data associated with the account is permanently erased from our systems: your email address, your pins and their coordinates, your device and push-token records, your alert history, and any barometric pressure readings your devices contributed. This is done by an automatic daily job — no one has to remember to run it.
- Your email address cannot be used to register a new account until that purge completes. This window exists so a deleted account cannot be silently re-created; once the purge runs, the address is free again.
- We retain minimal logs for 90 days for abuse prevention and support, then delete them.
- We keep one record of the deletion itself — an internal account identifier, the action, and the date — as our compliance record that the request was honoured. It holds no email address and no locations, and once the purge above has run there is nothing left for that identifier to point at.
Full detail on what we collect and why is in our Privacy Policy.
5. Questions
If anything here is unclear, or a deletion request has not been actioned, email [email protected] and a human will answer.
